Following the acquisition of XYZ’s SLS technology earlier this year, the company further expands its SLS capabilities by entering the metal additive field through a strategic collaboration with Headmade Materials. Nexa3D’s customers can now produce metal components using the QLS 230 and QLS 236 high-throughput printers. This is done by combining the feedstock technology of ColdMetalFusion with powder metallurgy.

Nexa3D’s reputation as a pioneer of high-speed polymer additive production has been earned by consistently breaking the boundaries in additive production. Nexa3D, in partnership with Headmade Materials is able bring its expertise and experiences in ultrafast serial manufacturing to ColdMetalFusion, an ecosystem that thrives on precision, performance and repeatability.

“We are impressed by the speed and throughput capabilities of Nexa3D technology and couldn’t be more excited to partner with them to expand access and adoption of ColdMetal Fusion technology,” said Christian Fischer, Co-CEO of Headmade Materials.

Nexa3D, in partnership with Headmade will be able to leverage the ecosystem surrounding ColdMetalFusion. This will allow Nexa3D’s customers to benefit from decades of expertise in industrial manufacturing and sintering. Together, the companies can offer customers services, equipment and materials, as well as software and know-how in the metal manufacturing sector. Nexa3D is a great fit for the metal manufacturing sector, as it brings its passion for the sustainable digitization supply chains.

The QLS printers are the most versatile industrial SLS platform available for metal and polymer parts. QLS230, with its 24-hour cycle speed and a single 30 Watt CO2 laser can produce metal components that are similar to metal injection molding. MIMplus Technologies, GmbH, in fact, uses the QLS230 and ColdMetalFusion technologies to print industrial tools, with a dramatic reduction in production costs when compared with traditional manufacturing methods.

“We are thrilled to partner with Headmade for ColdMetalFusion because we believe it provides our customers with best-in-class production economics for manufacturing metal components,” stated John Calhoun, Head of SLS Business Development at Nexa3D.

Nexa3D is available in over 100 countries through an authorized network of resellers. Find a reseller near you by using the reseller locator. The Nexa3D web site and the media kit contain additional information.
