Job Description:
Work with insurance companies to get pre-certification of diagnostic imaging orders.

  • Answer promptly any requests from the referral source for information, documentation or other reports.
  • Get accurate information about payment sources and patient information.
  • Get authorization to start services from payer sources
  • Answer and screen phone referrals
  • Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments for patients.
  • Help resolve insurance issues and eligibility issues
  • Responsibilities include obtaining pre-authorization and communicating it as required per the requirements of insurance companies
  • Responsible for tracking and obtaining authorizations from different carriers, extending them in a timely fashion, and asking input from the appropriate team members when needed.
  • Follow up on services to ensure they are still available, eligible and authorized
  • Verify payers or communicate benefit issues
  • Keep track of insurance information and share it with relevant staff
  • Confidentiality of patient information
  • Maintain and work independently from the electronic medical records and additional databases
  • Obtain pre-certification number from physician’s office if applicable
  • List of current facility insurance contracts
  • Help in the creation, organization and maintenance of role-specific documents, policies and tools
  • Maintain compliance by following company policies and procedures, as well as all federal, state and regulatory guidelines

Requirements:

It is not required

  • USCIS requires proof of eligibility to work in America.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form, as well as excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, write and use computer and paper.
  • Attitude of forgiveness and willingness to take responsibility for actions.
  • A growth mindset is essential.
  • Be open to constructive criticism.

Preferred

  • Experience with insurance verification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience pre-authorizing medical imaging exams across modality and specialty.

Work Environment:

Must be able sit or stand for ergonomic purposes for at least eight hours each day. The equipment you will use daily includes a phone, computer, scanner, printer, fax & copy machine.

Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay rate is dependent upon experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
