Fake passport racket busted, mastermind held, aide on run | Chennai News


CHENNAI – A large fake passport racket has been busted in the state after a man tried to fly to Malaysia on 7 July.

After catching Anthonysamy in possession of a fake travel document, the immigration officials at Chennai Airport alerted the Central Crime Branch of the City Police.
The police began investigating the fake passport’s source while Anthonysamy remained in custody. The trail led them there Mohamed Feroz Khan (45) Ananthur Village, Ramanathapuram. The police arrested him on 3 August and seized from his home, as well as the residence of his assistant, 105 counterfeit passports, fake seals and stamps of governments and other organizations. They also seized computers, printers, cash counting machines, 57,000 dollars in cash and Singapore, Thai, Malaysian and Thai currency. Syed AbudhahirWho is the absconder?

Feroz Khan is the alleged mastermind. He was assisted by Syed Abudahir Alangudi is a town in Pudukottai. The police claimed that they would provide fake travel documents to those who wanted to go overseas, most often to Malaysia.
Feroz Khan has been placed in judicial custody, and the hunt for his assistant is underway.
The police have warned the public to avoid applying for visas and passports through agents. Police advised the public that they should submit all documents required to Regional Passport Offices, and obtain visas from the consular offices concerned.
