The presentation will include a demonstration of vCarvePro, a desktop software that can be used for both computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) work. Ben Mason, Berea Makerspace | 8am — 12pm Learn about using hand tools at the makerspace with accomplished woodworker, violin-maker, and makerspace member Ben Mason. Ben will discuss the purpose and preparation of each tool for use, as well as the best techniques to use chisels or planes in a safe, productive way. This orientation is required in order to use the Makerspace traditional tool box. This is a pay what you can event, with limited seats — there WILL be waitlists. We ask that you give as much as you can. Our grant with Berea College allows us to do what we can to make these events as accessible as possible.Our event system does not allow for sliding scale pricing — please pay through our Paypal account (credit cards accepted) or through cash at the door. For minors, the minimum age is 16; an adult must also be present.

Diabetes Screening Event Richmond Branch at the Madison County Library | 1 — 3 p.m. University of Kentucky has teamed up with local organizations in order to enroll participants into a diabetes research study. Each participant will receive six sessions of health coaching to help with diabetes self-management. A few participants may also be chosen to participate in the Diabetes Education Empowerment Programs (DEEP).
