Canon is Magic According to Gartner MQ MFP & Printer Results
Gartner states that “leaders are the most competent in providing MFPs and printers as well as the associated printing services and solutions, regardless of their customer location.” The Leaders quadrant has the largest product portfolio relative to its peers and the widest channel capability to get the products to their customers wherever they need them.
The Magic Quadrant
Gartner created the Magic Quadrant as a proprietary research tool that ultimately shows which companies lead their fields.
Gartner uses the tool to create detailed reports every 2 years that focus on particular industry sectors. This tool allows business professionals to quickly locate businesses in specific industries that meet their needs.
Gartner suggests using the Magic Quadrant report to help you choose a supplier such as Canon if you are in the market for a new printer, MFP (Multifunction Printer), or any other type of printer.
Completeness of vision and ability to execute
These are the primary criteria Gartner uses when evaluating each company in each Magic Quadrant. Once each company has been rated, they can be classified into one of four categories
- Leaders
- Challengers
- Visionaries
- Niche Players
Canon has been recognized as a leader in the MFP/Printer Magic Quadrant. According to Gartner, this makes Canon one the most trusted companies when it comes to multifunction printers and general office printers.
Canon printers are some of today’s most innovative multifunction printers. Canon deserves recognition for its achievements, with Canon’s imageRUNNER Advance series of MFPs increasingly made of bioplastic.
What about photocopiers
Gartner does not have a Magic Quadrant specifically for photocopiers. Given the continued similarity between photocopiers, multifunction printers, and general office printers, this is not surprising. Modern MFPs are as functional as modern photocopiers. This is also true for general office printers. Multifunction Printers (or MFPs) are the new category that unifies the disparate markets for printers and copiers.
Canon is a good supplier for one or more MFPs.
The Gartner report focuses more on large, corporate-sized businesses. Canon is well placed to offer simple and complex solutions. Canon is still a great company to work with if you only need a basic office MFP/printer.
