Ballot paper printing delayed due to lack of facilities, funding

COLOMBO (News 1st); Ballot Paper printing has been delayed indefinitely.

According to the Government Printer, issues around the date of the Local Government Election and inability to continue printing ballot paper led to the decision to delay printing of ballot papers indefinitely.

The Government Printer said that all ballot papers printed are now in a secure place.

Due to lack of adequate police protection and funding, the printing of ballot papers was constantly interrupted.

According to the Government Printer, if all the facilities are available, printing ballot papers can be done in between 25-30 days.
