B.C. crime: 3D printer seized as part of trafficking probe



Police in northern B.C. searched one residence and made one arrest in reference to the alleged trafficking of 3D-printed weapons.


The Mixed Forces Particular Enforcement Unit stated, in a press release, they launched an investigation final month and searched a house in Prince George on Monday, the place they discovered and seized numerous objects. Amongst these have been a 3D printer, one “loaded and totally assembled” 3D-printed firearm, and “quite a few” 3D-printed elements together with frames and magazines.


“3D printers, when used for a nefarious objective places public security in danger,” stated CFSEU spokesperson Sgt. Brenda Winpenny, noting that the investigation was led by the Unlawful Firearms Enforcement Workforce.


Different objects seized included a rifle with the serial quantity “obliterated,” prohibited magazines, ammunition and what’s believed to be counterfeit U.S. foreign money.


Nobody has been charged, however authorities say a person “related to the residence” was arrested and launched.
